From Humble Beginnings
For over 35 years Minnesota Medical has built an unsurpassed reputation of high value equipment expertise, offering technical repairs, services, rebuilds, refurbishment, calibration and troubleshooting expertise on an extensive array of biomedical, clinical, therapeutic, laboratory and industrial equipment and devices.

1991 – Founding of Minnesota Medical Specialists.

In its early days, MNMED’s primary focus was centered on servicing tabletop steam sterilizers and hematology devices for Clinics and Labs in the combined Minneapolis and Saint Paul metro area.
1991-2000

Branched out to service a wider array of biomedical devices and products beyond just autoclaves. Continued company growth and expansion into device service offerings spanning Clinics and Labs across the Upper Midwest.
What began as a two-technician operation servicing a limited scope of devices in the Twin Cities, grew to eight employees providing services and equipment sales to customers in Wisconsin, Iowa, and North Dakota.
2000-2010

Acquired Garvey Company, enabling MNMED to service Physical Therapy, Rehabilitation and Nursing Care centers throughout the Upper Midwest.
Increased equipment sales capacity through a growing number of vendor partnerships and OEM distributorships, including Tuttnauer and Midmark.
2010-2015

MNMED added Silver, Gold, and Platinum service contracts to provide worry-free support of critical equipment.
Renewed and focused efforts on Veterinary-specific equipment in Minnesota and Wisconsin.
Continued adding more customers, equipment, service regions, and other businesses.
First MNMED employee to meet requirements for the award of the Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation’s (AAMI) Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician (CBET) credential.
Began providing service contracts for bulk sterilization devices and large-scale autoclaves, managing over 100 of these devices across the Upper Midwest.
2017

Founding of Minnesota Medical Refrigeration (formerly Harasyn’s Refrigeration Service). Began providing maintenance and repair services for Biomedical, Pharmaceutical and Laboratory refrigeration devices.
Increased partnership and training with various OEMs, including Consolidated Sterilizer Systems and PHCbi.
Increased role as a provider for biomedical, clinical and rehabilitation equipment services for Veterans’ Healthcare and Assisted Living Centers across the US.

2020

Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, as an essential business, MNMED supported six Federal Veterans Affairs Medical Centers across the country.
Began servicing and installing various water quality improvement systems, with a primary focus on Reverse Osmosis devices supporting sterile processing and decontamination equipment operations.
Increased partnership with DAI Scientific as a sales partner, in order to provide customers seeking new laboratory equipment with the best possible service, value and experience for the lifetime of the equipment.
2021

Opened remote technician branch in Kansas City, Missouri, supporting several large industrial, research and State University contract customers.
Increased focus on equipment CMMS reporting, specialty calibrations, installation qualifications, operational qualifications, and performance qualifications (IQ/OQ/PQ).
2023

Opened remote technician branch in Fargo, North Dakota enhancing our response times across the Dakotas and Northern Minnesota.
Added certifications and training for new OEMs, including but not limited to Stirling Ultracold and Airnetic Oxygen Systems.
2025

Two additional AAMI CBETs were added to MNMED’s staff.
Opened remote technician branch supporting the Des Moines, Iowa metro area.
Upgraded MNMED’s field service software suite to next generation software provider TruAsset, in order to provide our customers the best possible value in data and reporting for all of their CMMS requirements.
Inaugural remote technician branch in San Antonio, Texas to support Veteran Affairs and Department of Defense Hospitals.
Added certifications and training for new OEMs, including but not limited to Baker Company lab hoods and safety cabinets, and Miele washers.
2026 & Beyond

Over 350 total service and inspection contracts supporting complex capital equipment, including more than 50 local, state, and federal service contracts.
Additional remote technician support hubs planned across the Central United States through 2030.
